The story of project PARALIES began back in 2019 while searching and discussing the possibility of organizing an initiative to combat marine pollution in our country and not waste time in another effort that in the end would not have any substantial result.
Going deeper into the discussions and design of the project, we came to the conclusion that our idea can grow even more, compared to our initial thoughts, by inviting companies that have environmental consciousness and social contribution in a very high position within their corporate design and their values based on which they operate and exist in the Greek market.
Project PARALIES is implemented through beach adoption, for the entire summer season, as well as through coastal clean-ups by companies that have increased environmental consciousness and want to make an active social impact.
Reducing the impact on the coastal and marine environment through the adoption and continuous beach clean-ups throughout the summer season.
Increasing recycling through separate collection of waste produced on the beaches.
Raising public awareness of the necessity and way of maintaining clean beaches.
It is under its responsibility the overall coordination of the project, the responsibility of communicating its results with the adoption partners and the authorities of the beaches as well as the responsibility of solving all the issues that arise during its implementation.
Project Manager has the overall responsibility of the project and the quality control of the beach clean-ups, the collection of collected waste from the bins and the good maintenance of all project materials. Under his responsibility is the communication with the beach clean-up team, the communication with the driver for the organization of waste collection issues and the continuous communication with the coordination team for any issue that arises regarding the implementation of the project.
The project driver is responsible for collecting the waste from the bins of each beach, weighing the bags by type of collected waste, recording the weighing and transporting the recyclable waste to the recycling facility.
They are responsible for the daily care of the beach, manually cleaning it from the waste found on it and also taking care of the bins and informational materials placed on each beach.
This team is assigned the dissemination and communication of the project’s actions and the creation of content for social media accounts. The communication team provides communication material to all project partners.
Initial thorough cleanup of the beach by trained personnel for the reception of summer bathers.
Installation of bins for the separate collection of waste at the beach.
Installation of informative boards at every beach.
Daily cleanup of the beach by trained personnel.
Quantitative and qualitative recording of the waste collected daily at every beach.
Supply of special beach ashtrays to the bathers.
Separate collection (plastic, aluminium, paper, glass, mixed) of waste produced by the bathers at the beach.
Recycling of the collected recyclable waste streams.
Continuous information and awareness of the bathers and the general public through a communication campaign.
